Hey! Hey! Hey! sweeteners, with the challenging times we are facing today we have to remember WE got this. It is disheartening at times to see the crisis that our country is in. I say at times because it also is empowering and encouraging to see the strength and unity that this crisis is creating within our world. Homes are being restored, peace is being enjoyed, and equality is slowly but surely being resuscitated. Let’s explore some ways to remain positive during the pandemic

We all must understand that our life can be made over in a moment. Life was meant to be lived and lived more abundantly. I am not only speaking on tangible abundance but also internal abundance. When placing more focus on the external (ie: circumstances, disappointing situations) it heightens our own fears and we are less likely to take action. It is important that while going through this pandemic along with social injustice we take time to readjust and refocus on those things that are noble/good and of good rapport. It is so easy to focus on the negative. Our brains are wired for protection which means it always focuses on perceived danger in order to protect us. So, the perceived danger is more than likely to be fear based and fear driven. (Check out my latest blog that explores fear a little deeper)

This time now is a time of allowing old things to pass away to allow the birthing of new things. As we see in our country right now the old systems are no longer working. We are fighting for new laws as well as a new way of being considering this pandemic. Below I have suggested:

3 ways that can be helpful to refocusing to bring peace within
  1. Spending time with loved ones.
    1. This is important because the comfort and peace that is brought upon us when we are around those who make us feel good is unmatched
  2. Unplug from media.
    1. Unplugging from social media, the news, or even those who call to tell news is beneficial. It allows for us to take a moment to not be bombarded with information as well as it gives time to clear our heads and refocus.
  3. Meditation
    1. Meditating is a powerful tool because it gives us time to think deeply and reflect on what we believe and our actions (Joshua 1:8). It gives us the opportunity to control the “monkey chatter” that is constantly running rapid and causes us to remain in a state of unrest and steals our peace.

These are only suggestions that can be helpful ways to remain positive during the pandemic. They have helped me remain focused and positive during challenging times. Prayerfully they will bless your life like they have blessed mine. We are all in this together and we always need to continue to support and uplift each other.
